I decided to participate in challenge to write a post everyday for 21 days. I had great plans including my big migration to wordpress and so many other goodies...but I'm sick and that's the excuse I'm using on why things are postponed. Anywho I am still starting my challenge today by bringing back the grab bag series!! Since its been forever since I've done a grab bag I decided to go a little overboard and post about almost everything I did today lol

Saw this outfit on Pinterest and just had to make a Polyvore creation for it!! I can't wait to rock this look when its not super cold!

My secret obsession: $3 and under manicures!

It started off as a simple interest on pinterest of pinning various nail art and designs, then I got invited to a nail wrap party and saw that I didn't need to be a nail pro to have fun stylish nails! What turned my mere infatuation to an absolute obsession was the Dollar Tree and their nail wraps for $1! With so many designs to choose from I couldn't believe that I could have these gorgeous creations for $1 add in a nail polish if you choose and you've got yourself a $2 manicure! I love this cheap option because it allows me to experiment with so many styles for cheap. The nail wraps are actually name brand in fact the Dollar Store near me is currently carrying the Essie brand! Below are just a couple of my creations I have caught on camera and the wraps and polish I used:
This one I used the Essie wraps with a mettalic polish

This one was my holiday theme with red, white, and silver wraps with red polish and glittler top coat.

My favorite nail polish is LA Colors because it's $1 and super potent only 1 coat is really needed! I hope to share more of my creations in the future :)

Quick post: Homemade Microwavable Kettle Popcorn!

I discovered on Pinterest the amazing phenomenon of popping homemade popcorn in the microwave!! Why I had been so oblivious to such an ingenious is beyond me! You can use a brown paper lunch bag or a glass bowl and plate which is the method I use. Pour the popcorn in the bowl microwave for approx. 3 1/2 minutes and viola you have popcorn! To make it kettle style mix these ingredients with the kernels before popping:

2 TBS of oil ( I used olive oil)
1 TBS sugar
1/2 tps of salt

The popcorn turned out perfect! Not too drenched with oil and sugar like the mircowavable bags and definitely much more healthier without the unnecessary added ingredients that you might find with the store bought bags. This is definitely my go to method whenever im craving popcorn from now on!

Apple Cider Goodness

Thanks to Starbucks and Caribou Coffee I have an obsession with caramel apple cider this time of year. Luckily I can save my $$ and keep my addiction going by making it at home! It's simple and easyand  oh so delish! You can purchase apple cider at any store but I do prefer homemade and /or cider made from local farms. You also easily make your own caramel sauce or buy some (I choose the latter). All you do is heat the cider on high for 10min then turn it down to medium heat and add cinnamon and let it simmer for another minute. You add the caramel sauce to your cup before you pour the cider mix. Once the cider is done pour it into you mug and stir the caramel and viola you have a caramel apple cider delight!

Holiday Faves Post #2 - Zulily Sales!

***This post contains affiliate links, and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links.

I pretty much use Zulily.com for about 60% of my holiday shopping especially for the lil diva. Here are a few upcoming sales in the coming days that are definitely worth shopping!

Intro to the story...

So I knew I was destined to be in Chi Town when Y! avatars created a look that was exactly identical to an outfit I wore last winter while visiting Chicago lol Seriously, I have always been a city girl trapped in the suburbs but God has finally given me the opportunity to be where I want to be. So this blog will detail my adventures of living in Chicago shown through photos (because why type a thousand words when a picture can do the same :P). I was actually inspired by this concept from Lala's blog (www.iamlala.com) since thats what she does on her website. That's the super condensed version of why I am starting a blog/moving to Chicago!
